CPPS Legacy Statement
CPPS LEGACY STATEMENT
Entrusted by God with the gift of our charism of reconciliation, we, the Sisters of the Adoration of the Most Precious Blood of O’Fallon, Missouri, share this charism throughout our daily living. This charism motivates our spiritual values and shapes our lives through reconciliation, presence, hospitality, and response to human needs.
Our relationship with God, fostered and sustained by prayer, has grounded us in ministering to those to whom we have been called. Our rootedness in Jesus’ gift of the Eucharist and our love for this gift has brought us to a greater understanding and appreciation of the Liturgy of the Church and its importance for all God’s people. Throughout the years, in some way or another, all our ministries have borne the imprint of our understanding and love of the Liturgy.
Greater awareness of and sensitivity to the needs of the poor has allowed us to have a broader world view and called us to take concrete action to reduce suffering in the world. We have had setbacks on the journey, yet our vision has gone beyond this world in the radical hope of the Paschal mystery.
We have not travelled our path by ourselves. As part of the human family and as publicly professed members of a religious congregation in the Roman Catholic Church, we have been guided and aided by God’s people in all our endeavors. We are grateful to all who have ministered to us and to all to whom we have been able to minister.
Although we leave tangible legacies that are significant reminders of the gifts we have received and shared with the People of God, the heart of our legacy is our very life and the lives we have touched. It is important that our charism and values live on, passed down from generation to generation. What is key is that our lives reflect the God who loves us and that those who came to know that Love through us will share it generously.
